The CICOSEMA Pulse
Opportunities for CICOSEMA Members
As the year 2024 sets in, efforts have been intensified to ensure that the Charter Bill of the Institute, which is at the Public Hearing Stage, comes to fruition. The efforts to raise the desired funds gathered momentum but still far off from where it should be in preparation for the Public Hearing.
To kick start the year, The CICOSEMA Pulse made its debut with a historical account of the Institute’s journey.
It was agreed at the Governing Council Meeting that there is need to get our numerous members and stakeholders on the same page, interact with one another and contribute our quotas to the sustenance of the Institute’s continuing success story.
CICOSEMA has been the only Institute with congregation of varied professionals and it has also been the only one that ensures its members derive measurable benefits. These range from payment of travelling and boarding expenses to the Institute’s events, giving of awards to deserving members, to participation as off-site lecturers to our partner University, Western Ville University, based in California.
The Institute is taking it a notch up this year as it is putting in place mechanism to harvest its network of goodwill to establish a training arm for institutions and MDAs of governments. Efforts have gone far in this and results may be seen before the end of the first quarter of 2024.
Planned Expansion of The CICOSEMA Pulse
There is a planned expansion of The CICOSEMA Pulse into a full-fledged Magazine and, to this end, advertisement has gone out to members to indicate where they wish to serve, either on the Management Board or the Editorial Board. The responses have been encouraging and it is hoped to commence in this quarter.
Updates on Running Courses
Professional and Proficiency Certificate Courses, and Degree Conversion Programmes have continued, with the added advantage that the Institute has been accredited to cover the whole of the African Continent. This is a great plus for the Institute and its members. This accreditation and partnerships will make the Institute to be self reliant and provide businesses and job opportunities to its members.
Annual Subscription
Only members who are up-to-date on their Annual Subscription will qualify to benefit from these identifiable benefits. To reiterate the words of the Chairman and President-in-Council, Prof. Kehinde Olusegun, DFCS, “The Annual Subscription falls due every January 1. By the third week of the year those who have not paid their subscription will have their names “archived†on the Institute’s website – https://cicosemainstitute.org/portal/member-register.php.
CICOSEMA is going places and apart from great opportunities to network, arrays of measurable benefits it offers to members are incomparable, including fully sponsored professional and proficiency certification programmes.
2024 Induction and Awards
Preparations for the 2024 Induction and Awards have started and it is the duty of every member to bring in as many members as possible to ensure a robust membership by the time the Charter of the Institute comes in this year. There is also the opportunity to give Awards of Recognition to deserving members of the public. You may clarify any of these from the National Secretariat, using the official email address, cicosemainstitute@gmail.com.
There will be a new dimension to the publication of the Induction and Awards’ Brochure. Each inductee will have their photographs printed with a detailed bio.
On behalf of the President/Chairman, the Governing Council and members of the Institute, I wish you all a successful and joyous 2024.
Olanrewaju Akinfenwa, FCS
Deputy Registrar
